Instrument Calibration
Overview
When an instrument is calibrated, log it in Validere with the Instrument Calibration form. You can do this on mobile or on the web. Submitting the form updates the instrument's calibration date and status automatically.
Log a calibration on mobile
- Go to Forms > Instrument Calibration > Instrument Calibration.
- Tap Start Form.
- Enter the Site, Instrument, and Calibration Date. User and Calibration Frequency fill in automatically (frequency appears after you enter the site and instrument).
- Scroll down and tap Submit.

Log a calibration on the web
- Go to Forms > Categories.
- Open Instrument Calibration.
- Open the Instrument Calibration template.
- Click Create Submission.
- Enter the Site, Instrument, and Calibration Date. User and Calibration Frequency fill in automatically.
- Click Submit.

Swapping instruments that do not report a serial number
Some instruments (for example Horiba and Rudolph analyzers) do not report their serial number, so Validere cannot tell which one produced a test. When one of these instruments is swapped out for maintenance or calibration, mark the instrument coming out of service Inactive and the instrument going into service Active. Incoming tests are assigned to the Active instrument.
- Go to Organization > Instruments.
- Search for the instruments you need.
- Open the instrument.
- Confirm the Serial Number matches the physical instrument.
- Click Change Status.
- Set the status to Active or Inactive.
- Under the period control, set the start period to the current month, then save.

For calibration settings and statuses, see Instrument Calibration and Validation. For how spare instruments are tracked, see Instrument Spares.
